March 2017 Beauty Favourites

One: Garnier Miracle Skin Cream
I wasn't sure what this actually did at first; the bottle has almost no information on it. I started using it as a moisturiser, then as a primer. After a little experimenting, I've deducted that this is basically a BB cream with a little SPF. It has shade adjusting pigments that do not offer a whole lot of coverage, and it doesn't hide imperfections but does blur them to an extent so it's great as a base for foundation or for those "no make-up" days. The reason that this made it on to my favourites this month, is because of the way my skin feels when I wear this. My face feels sosososo soft, smooth, firm, youthful - I can't help but constantly touch it, and it is super soothing on reddened or sensitive skin AND THE SMELL! It has the most beautiful rose scent, which I absolutely love. It claims to be anti-ageing over time, too.

Two: Nuxe Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm RĂªve de Miel*
I've mentioned so many times on the blog that I live in a constant state of dry lips, so I like to think of myself as something of a lip balm expert. This balm intrigued me with it's claims to nourish, repair, soothe and protect even the driest and damaged lips - ka-ching! It's super nourishing thanks to the goodness of honey and Vitamin E, is so long lasting, leaving my lips feeling soft and hydrated for a good chunk of the day. It's super thick, so I prefer to use it at night, although on super dry days, there's nothing that compares to the way that I feel after I slather it on. It smells wonderful, too - a sort of sweet, citrus-y scent which is so revitalising.

Three: Benefit Gimme Brow*
I think I'm about the only person who didn't immediately jump on the Benefit brow collection bandwagon. but I've been using this daily since my Adore Beauty haul. The medium shade matches my colouring so nicely and the waterproof formula is perfect for my full-day-of-work-followed-by-a-gym-session lifestyle. It's pretty damn smudge proof once it dries (and it dries fast), and I absolutely LOVE the fibres that attach themselves to the skin and hairs. They create such a textured, natural looking fullness whilst also helping to keep unruly hairs in place all day.

Four: Australis Liquid Strobe Illuminating Drops
I'm all about a good highlight these days.. I'm also all about the cream highlight and contour products, so this new addition to Priceline's stocks really piqued my interest. Now, you're either a fan of cream products, or you're not, so I understand that this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm really enjoying these. I picked up both shades - pink and gold and although I think I prefer the gold offering on my skin tone right now, they're both beautiful! I know that some cream products can accentuate any texture your skin may have. I, myself, do not have much (if any) texture so I cannot attest to how these stack up in that regard, but I will say that they have such a light, smooth texture that makes blending a dream. They're so versatile in the way that they can be applied to be blinding, sheered out to a luminous glow or mixed in with foundation to create an all-over glow. I'm such a fan of the little dropper, too! About 3 drops spaced over the tops of my cheekbones is more than enough to satisfy me.

Five: AESOP Geranium Leaf Body Scrub*
This was free sample that came with my recent Adore Beauty order that quickly turned in to a favourite of mine. This body scrub (although I really only use it on my legs, knees and elbows) is a gentle mixture of milled pumice and bamboo which exfoliates the skin beautifully, soughing away dry, dead skin without scratching or damaging the skin.. The ingredients act to calm, purify and disinfect the skin. It's a wonderful for the weekly deep-cleanse, or to use after shaving to help avoid ingrown hairs, leaving my skin super soft and ready to slurp moisturiser right up.

  5. Didn't jump on the Benefit brow bandwagon at first here, either (too much of an Anastasia girl), but their brow products are really good and we've been using them pretty often around our house lately! Love your picks.

  7. I don't think I'm a candidate for the Benefit brow bandwagon. Women my age who try to recreate the eyebrows they had in their 20's end up looking silly. "Silly" isn't my look. ;-) But I do love the sound of that Geranium Leaf Body Scrub. I don't know why it happens now, but my calves always look like moulting snakes in the Spring. Also not a good look for me. Making a trip to Ulta tomorrow. Hope they have this.

  14. I haven't tried any of your favourites from this month! I would love to try some products from AESOP, but I'm not sure I'm sold on the Geranium scent... As a conservation student I have spent my fair share of time pulling the damn stuff up and now I can't stand the smell :)

  29. Ahaha oh man, I could imagine how sick you'd get of the smell of Geranium. The AESOP scrub honestly smells more like bamboo than anything. I think because only Geranium leaves are used, which I believe don't smell as strong as the flower itself? It's an expensive (for me, anyway) tube, but I really think it's worth it. :) x
