A Colourful Priceline (Drugstore) Haul

Wow, Christie. Another make-up haul? How very inspired of you. It's not like you've already done two others this past month (hey and hey). What can I say? Priceline is my weakness. The drugstore has been producing some absolute bangers lately and I'm all for discovering the inexpensive goodies therein.

This haul actually came at the perfect time for me. We've had disgusting weather here in good old W-of-A lately so spending a portion of my afternoon photographing this bright, colourful flatlay in my cozy pajamas while it was grey, miserable and rainy outside brought me such happiness.

Here is what I picked up in my most recent drugstore make-up and skincare haul:

This palette is an EXACT copy of Huda Beauty's Desert Dusk Palette! I did a comparison on Instagram a few weeks back (you should follow along so you don't miss out next time) and the colours are basically identical, order and all! I haven't had much of a chance to play around with it beyond swatches, but I'm excited to see how it performs on the eyes. Considering it's so inexpensive, I hope it does well as it could be an amazing dupe. I plan on doing a full comparison post on the blog (let me know if you're keen!) in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned.

I didn't need this in my collection as I'm not much of a golden highlighter kind of gal. Plus I already have BECCA's Champagne Pop in my stash BUT I had heard such good things about this highlighter and for a drugstore product, I couldn't really go wrong. It swatched so beautifully - super metallic, and I think that it would look so pretty on the eyelids, too!

This was a repurchase. I use this moisturiser rather sparingly, focussing it on the lower half of my face (cheeks, chin and nose) as that is where I get the most dry. My forehead tends to get a smidge oily during the day and I find Toleriane Riche to be too rich for that particular part of my face. It's great at eliminating and soothing dry patches, though.

L'Oreal Paradise Exatic Mascara
This is apparently the Australian/European version (I assume due to different ingredient regulations and such) of L'Oreal's Lash Paradise, which the U.S. has been going mad over. I've gotta say: I wasn't overly impressed by Exatic (what does that even mean?!). The initial result is pretty - nicely lengthened and separated lashes but I've found that it's actually flaked on me throughout the day which has never happened to me in my whole history of wearing mascara. I'm going to keep trying it, but so far, it hasn't won me over.

Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner
I've mentioned before that my go-to toner is no longer going to be available to me (waah!) so I'm trying out different toners to try and replace it. This one is nice and gentle and I do like using it. It's definitely not my favourite formula (I've been trying Pixi's Glow Tonic lately and BOY is that a good product), but it's nice nonetheless. It's just missing that "oomph" that I'm used to.

Rimmel Soft Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in "Jet Black"
Also a repurchase. This is literally the only eyeliner that I use - it's so black and creamy and easy to use. As much as I'd love to be good at applying liquid liner (It's not pretty. Pls halp), I do prefer a pencil, especially when I'm in a hurry.
