In case you didn't see my instagram post, I finally caved and purchased the sweet peach palette after opting to turn it down during its first release. As it turns out, I'm a damn fool and should not have waited so long to get my hands on it. The peachy pinks, corals and bronzes that make up this palette compliment my blue/green/grey eyes beautifully! There is an even amount of matte and shimmery finishes that are so versatile - I've created so many different looks with this palette alone. There are one or two disappointing colours in the palette (ohai, Talk Derby To Me), but that's usually the case with most brands. For the most part, the shades have wonderful colour payoff with a soft, buttery texture and the formula is easy to blend. Then there's the smell; a sweet fruity scent that I actually prefer it to the Chocolate palette.
I understand that there was a lot of drama in the beauty world last year involving Jeffree and his ethics, and I am well aware that many people made the decision to forgo his products because of it. I (obviously) was not one of those people and you can think and say what you want about Jeffree as a person, but there is no denying that homegirl makes a damn good liquid lipstick. I do love all Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, not just this particular shade, but Gemini specifically made it on to my favourites this month because I just don't feel as though it gets enough recognition. It is a gorgeous warm-toned, rosy nude colour that (as with all the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lippies) goes on smoothly, is non-drying and dries to a lovely matte finish. It is incredibly pigmented requiring only one coat to achieve opaque coverage, meaning that there is no flaking and it has a delicious scent. This line of liquid lipsticks has been the only one that I've reached for in a very long time.
3. Nivea Lip Butter Caramel Cream Kiss
3. Nivea Lip Butter Caramel Cream Kiss
I have always had chronically dry lips. If my mouth is not constantly slathered in a balm of some sort, you can tell. Badly. The thing about having to constantly use a lip balm, is that your skin quickly adapts and something that worked wonders last week, doesn't seem to get the job done the next. Nivea's lip butter has been my product of choice lately, and it's done amazing things for my flaky lips. One of my biggest peeves when it comes to lip balm is an overly sticky or heavy formula. I. Just. Cant. No matter how moisturising. This, however, is none of those. It's delightfully light on the lips and has a deliciously soft, sweet, creamy butterscotch scent that I can't get enough of whilst,of course, being incredibly moisturising and softening.
4. LUSH Cup O' Coffee
I actually received sample pot of this after spending my Christmas voucher on a whole bunch of other LUSH goodies and I must say, I was hesitant. I'm not a lover of coffee or harsh exfoliates but the girl at the checkout was insistent that it was amazing, and besides, who am I to turn down a free sample? It's a good thing I was talked in to it because I was impressed. So much so that I've since bought a full-sized tub. It does have a strong coffee scent (yadon't say), but if I can deal with it, you can too. The formula is quite grainy, and the applying and the removing of the mask is where the exfoliating happens, but I was beyond surprised at how gentle this mask was, despite the large exfoliating coffee grounds it contains. I highly recommend removing the mask in the shower after your 10-15 minutes is up as it is quite the messy process, but once it's off.. oh boy. My skin feels sososo smooth and sososo soft. It's heaven!

5: RCMA No Colour Powder*
I'm sure you heard about this damn powder from every make-up "guru" and their dog all throughout 2016, but damn is it worth the hype! I've only recently discovered the wonder that is baking my face with a translucent powder as opposed to any other type of powder out there, and holy moly it has changed my life. This powder is amazing at setting my face and baking my under eye area and contour. It works to effectively keep my concealer in place, matte and from creasing throughout the whole day without changing the colour of the base that is underneath. It feels silky and light on the skin and brushes away with ease once you've baked to your heart's content. If this is particular offering is sold out (which it often is), I opt for the RCMA Translucent Powder* instead, which is also does an amazing job.

ReplyDeleteI haven't caved yet and purchased my peach palette (although hearing this review I just may have to) but I also hear it smells so delicious (and I just might have to purchase it to smell it LOL.) I didn't know Nivea had flavored lip glosses, caramel sounds yummy!

I love the lip butter and the coffee mask, the scent of this makes me more relaxed. That two is definitely my take away from the lists.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to talk myself out of buying the sweet peach pallet all month. I think you just convinced me to give in though!
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing good reviews on this Too Faced Peach palette. I'm going to have to look more into it.
ReplyDeleteWe always wait on things and then ask later why we would wait. At least you got the palette now. Glad you like it.

ReplyDeleteYES! It's the prettiest colour! :) x
ReplyDeleteI used that palette for a wedding on the weekend, actually. It's gorgeous. :) x
ReplyDeleteThen you sure will love Cup o' Coffee! :)

ReplyDeleteGirl! You need to try this, then! It smells wonderful. :) x
ReplyDeleteIt's perpetually sold out, I swear. I try to save it for a special occasion because it's so hard to snap up online aha. Jeffree's lipsticks are amazing. If you NEED to try one product before you die, Jeffree's liquid lippies are my recommendation. x
ReplyDeleteAhahahaa. It smells EXACTLY like a cup of coffee, and has actual coffee granules in it, but I probably wouldn't recommend drinking it. :P x
ReplyDeleteA person who is a fan of LUSH is alright by me. :P
ReplyDeleteNivea's lip butter is worth a try if you can find it. Just for the smell alone aha. x
Aha be weak like me and purchase the Sweet Peach palette. DO ITTT! I used it for a wedding look on the weekend and it was gorgeous. Nivea's lip butter is definitely worth a try, too. :) x

ReplyDeleteAha glad I could inspire a shopping spree for some new products. :P x
ReplyDeleteThe. Absolute. WORST! Nivea definitely isn't that way inclined, so I recommend that for sure. :) x
ReplyDeleteYou'll love them, girl. :) x
ReplyDeleteAhahaha. I apologise to your bank account, but I say you're welcome to your soon-to-be-peachy eyeballs. ;) x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely do, girl. It's lovely. :) x
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more, David. :)
ReplyDeleteOh man. You DEFINITELY need to try Cup o' Coffee if you're a fan of LUSH (and coffee haha), Roxy. :) x
ReplyDeleteAhaha I feel you there, girl! I can't seem to contain myself in LUSH either. :P
ReplyDeleteThe mask can actually be used as an all-over-body scrub/mask. I tend to use it only on my face because it lasts longer that way, but I could imagine it would be amazing on the body (especially the legs) too. :) x
Glad I could send some good suggestions your way. I'm all about sharing the product love. :) x
ReplyDeleteIt truly is, Belle. I'm so glad I got a sample to try. :) x
