1. LUSH Sleepy Body Lotion
I'm not usually the biggest fan of body lotions but Sleepy, you guys. This dang lotion is so calming and relaxing, "Sleepy" is the perfect name for it. It leaves my skin feeling so soft, lightly scented and nourished without leaving me feeling greasy like many lotions tend to. I actually didn't think that I would enjoy this at first as I have always labelled lavender as a "grandma" scent. Although this does contain a whole bunch of lavender (which is also why it's so relaxing), the scent isn't overpoweringly lavender-y. Instead, it imparts a soft, floral smell which instantly relaxes me.
2. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara*
I'm going to begin by saying that I absolutely hated this mascara at first. After finally getting my hands on a tube of this stuff, I was bitterly disappointed... I feel as though the formula is just too wet at the beginning, but now that it has dried down a little with use, I absolutely love it. I always choose a waterproof mascara but decided to purchase the regular formula as I had heard that the waterproof offering was on the clumpier side (I don't know if this is actually the case). It curls and elongates my lashes beautifully without clumping and does not smudge or flake on me throughout the day. This mascara also works well on my bottom lashes, which are annoyingly uncooperative with most other formulas.
I try not to use this every single day as I don’t want to run out of it quickly (it's pricy), but this is my favourite moisturiser. If I’m going through a super dry, itchy skin phase, which happens quite often for me, then this is what I reach for. This is honestly the most hydrating moisturiser that I have ever used that doesn't break me out or leave me feeling oily and heavy. It just leaves my skin feeling smooth, hydrated and plump and also claims to work to repair the skin's moisture barrier, which is never a bad thing, either.
4. The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel*
This is actually a new-ish release from The Body Shop (look at me getting in with the times) and the way it works is gross, but so very satisfying. We all know what a chemical exfoliator is by now, but this is a chemical exfoliator that you can literally see working! Almost immediately after smoothing the gel over your face you are rewarded with the satisfyingly disgusting sight of your dead skin (gently!) peeling away. I use this once every three-or-so days and I'm left with smooth, fresh, more luminous looking skin every time I use it without having to use a harsh abrasive.
As someone who is prone to dry, flaky eyelids (gross, I know), a good eye cream is an essential part of my skincare routine. I usually reach for my trusty It's Potent!* by Benefit but decided try something different on a whim. I'm such a fan of Origins' GinZing Facial Mist* that I'm actually rather surprised and somewhat disappointed that it has taken me so long to try this eye cream. It doesn't negatively affect any eye make-up that I put over it and is hydrating enough to keep any flaky skin away. I mostly love this eye cream for how refreshing it is, especially on tired eyes! The coffee beans and ginseng work wonderfully to de-puff, brighten, and smooth fine lines, leaving my eyes looking fresher and much more awake.

I have a love-hate relationship with the Better Than Sex mascara. I love how my eyelashes look in it, but it does smudge unlike any other! I spend the day retouching! I loved your post!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the GinZing eye cream because ever since I got my daughter I have been sleeping like3-4 hours a night? The eye cream might help me to look less tired...or it is that good...help me to look atleast two years younger!🙏😂
ReplyDeleteI am looking for a new mascara so I may check out the Better Than Sex Mascara out . I love discovering new products and reading their reviews.
ReplyDeleteI love Lush products, this sounds positively lovely! I definitely will be checking that out. As for the dry eyelids, girl, I feel you. Especially once fall kicks into high gear - thanks for the recommendations!
ReplyDeleteI am not in the know with makeup and beauty products. So some of these brands are not familiar to me. I do like the sounds of clinque moisture surge intense skin fortifying hydrator and the body shop drops.
ReplyDeleteI love that you have the Too Faced "Better Than Sex" mascara on your list! While I have a ton of other brands, it seems lately I've been using it nonstop!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. Our eyes are the most delicate part of our body and yet I admittedly neglect it most of the time. Nice list btw :)
ReplyDeleteI am always looking for new products and your lists always deliver! i'm looking into that eye cream for sure!
ReplyDeleteI love checking out what other people are loving beauty wise. I have the Better than Sex Mascara and love the drama it creates. Perfect for night looks!
ReplyDeleteI love too faced products as well. Thanks for letting me know about the watery issue at the beginning, I had a friend recommend it last month.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great products, I heard that the Better Than Sex mascara is everything I must try it out.
ReplyDeleteI like your list. I especially love the origins products. Has Origins ever made a product that was less than awesome? No!

The Origins eye cream looks interesting to me, as my eyelids can tend to get dry too, esp during the winter months
ReplyDeleteBetter Than Sex and Clinique Moisture Surge are LIFE! Now I know your other items must be amazing because those are two of my go-to's ;)
ReplyDeleteI used to use the Better Than Sex mascara, but I haven't in years! Maybe I need to try it again!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing about this mascara so I think it's definitely worth a try. And I love anything Clinique. I have the moisturising gel and it just feels like a cool cup of water on my skin!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the Too Faced mascara! I never had a problem with it being to wet though, it's always been on the firmer side for me, and I love that about it! I know that the non waterproof seems to be the favourite, but I'm still keen to give the waterproof mascara a go too! Xx

Im not the biggest person when it comes to makeup and skin care. But the Sleep lotion does sound intriguing. And anything that helps me feel relaxed is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteThe Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel is the one I want to try out.It sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteI never had a good experience with wet mascaras as it always smudge or maybe I'm not too perfectionist as how to apply it! My eyelids are also dry. I'll check out GinZing Eye cream as it sounds great!
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of all the products you showcased. However, I think the mascara is my absolute favorite!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any of these products but I have never been disappointed by Clinique. I might try that hydrator and GinZing Eye Cream. Lord knows I need it.
ReplyDeleteLush is one of my favorite products! I dont think Ive tried Sleepy yet but I would love to see how it smells!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a fan now! I've never really had to wait for a mascara to dry down before so it was a bit of an experience for me haha. x
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, that's a shame. I've never experienced any smudging when it comes to Better Than Sex. I have quite dry eyelids though so that could be the case. Have you tried the waterproof option? x
ReplyDeleteOh man I feel your pain haha. You could definitely benefit from Origins' eye cream in that case haha.
ReplyDeleteI love favourites posts for exactly that reason, Nayna. To find new products worth a try. I hope you do try Better Than Sex! Let me know if you do. :) x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely check LUSH's body lotion (and the rest of their products haha) out! It's amazing! Oh man, I'm glad to have discovered someone else who understands the struggles of dry eyelids - everyone I talk to have oily ones haha. x
ReplyDeleteThey're both great skincare products. Even if you're not in to make-up, skincare is a great place to learn a thing or two. :) x
ReplyDeleteI'm the same, Karyn! I have soosososo many great mascaras in my stash and yet, I still find myself reaching for Better Than Sex almost constantly. :) x
ReplyDeleteDon't feel too bad about it, Jackie - most of us neglect our eye area more than we should haha. This eye cream is amazing, though. Definitely worth a try. :) x
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I can be of some assistance, Kara. ;) Origins' eye cream is amazing - I highly recommend. :) x
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Better Than Sex is definitely perfect for night-time! x
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth a try, just bear in mind about the wetness at first haha, I wish someone would have told me in the beginning so I'm happy to spread the word aha. :) x
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely must! :) x
ReplyDeleteOooooh yes, girl! Sleepy is an amazing lotion! Definitely worth a try. :) x
ReplyDeleteI feel you there, Amy. Origins' eye cream is great on dry lids. :) x
ReplyDeleteA woman after my own heart hehe. :P x
ReplyDeleteI love re-discovering old favourites, maybe you should give it a whirl again hehe. x
ReplyDeleteHaha Better Than Sex is definitely making the rounds in terms of hype - it's definitely worth it, though. :) I haven't tried Clinique's moisturising gel, but it sounds amazing! x
ReplyDeleteHow interesting. Mine was so liquid-y when I first used it. :o Oh well, now that it has dried down somewhat I'm really liking it. I'm super interested in giving the waterproof version a go too. If you do end up trying it, let me know your thoughts. :) x
ReplyDeleteSleepy definitely does that, David. :) It's great for a night-time wind down. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's such a cool product! Definitely worth a try. :) x
ReplyDeleteI hate wet mascaras too, girl - they're so messy and don't work as well as a drier formula. Origins' eye cream is definitely worth a try, though. :) x
ReplyDeleteIt's a great mascara, Joy. Definitely worth a look in to. :) x
ReplyDeleteYes to both of those products, girl! Clinique is always a hit and Origins' eye cream is heavenly. :) x
ReplyDeleteI love finding a fellow LUSH fan. Sleepy is amazing! It used to be limited edition, but they've brought it back as a permanent product. :) x
