I've had time to play around with this and although it's marketed as being able to be used as a setting spray, I probably wouldn't recommend using it as such. It leaves behind a tacky feel to the skin which isn't really what you want on top of your make-up. It is because of this tacky finish that this makes an awesome primer. A couple of spritzes and my dry skin feels smooth, soft and hydrated and my make-up glides over this base wonderfully. Because it is full of skin loving and repairing ingredients, I also enjoy a light misting as a mid-day pick-me-up on no, or barely any, make-up days. Plus, the smell! Light, coconut-ty goodness.
Two: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in 'Dim Infusion'
The quality of Hourglass blushes are amazing! The powder is very finely milled - I love how smooth and silky it feels, while still remaining incredibly pigmented. I already had 'Diffused Heat' (a more pink hue) in my collection but I was after something a little more subtle, so I picked up 'Dim Infusion' in a recent haul. It is a lovely muted coral colour that compliments my blue eyes beautifully. It also has a luminescent finish, giving off a beautifully soft, gentle glow without being glittery.
I loved using these over the holiday season! Their sparkly goodness were perfect for festive eye looks. I have 'Kitten Karma' (a warm champagne with silver copper sparkle) and 'Molten Midnight' (black with gold and silver sparkle) and I've put a handful of other colours in my cart for my next MECCA shop. It's so easy to create beautiful glittery eye looks with these babies - the formula glides on with minimal effort, blends and spreads easily and does not transfer or have any fallout when dry. The colour payoff and overall effect is absolutely stunning.
The Gigi Hadid collection launched here in Australia at the start of December and although I'm not such a fan of a liquid eyeliner, it was love at first swipe. In all honesty, all liquid eyeliners basically seemed pretty much the same to me.. until I tried this one. It's so pigmented and dark. The applicator shape makes it very easy to apply and create a nice, sharp wing, especially if you're a bit of a noob like myself - it's quite thin and flexible. The rest of the collection is a bit of a "meh" if you ask me but this eye liner is a damn good one.
Five: Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in 'Flirtation'
I have a few shades in my collection but I've really been reaching for 'Flirtation' lately. It's a gorgeous coral-y pink that is super flattering on me. The formula of this "lipcolor" is more like a lip gloss in my opinion (although they don't technically say that this is a lipstick so maybe it's my bad for assuming it was). Despite the name, it definitely is not matte but it is very pigmented and smells amazing. It is also so comfortable to wear! I honestly feel as though it hydrates my lips even though it doesn't claim to. The tube is huge, too, which is always a good thing.

I'm obsessed with the Hourglass blushes, I can't believe how soft they are! :) I used Kitten Karma throughout the holiday season, too

I have never used liquid eyeshadow but, now will be on a look out to try some out. I assume it stays on just as long if not longer. That lip color is a nice color too. It's a good looking collection for December can't wait to see what's next!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear much blush. But you mentioned a point that I'll be sure to keep in mind when purchasing my next blush color. You said, "The powder is very finely milled". I see that's the quality I need to keep an eye out for. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHuge fan of liquid eyeshadow, especially to use as a base...I've always wanted to try the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip color. They come in so many pretty colors.
ReplyDeleteYour list is full of many great items. I think I would want to try the eye liner and eye shadow kits as I have never been a huge makeup girl before
ReplyDeleteThese products seems to be very good I will recommend this to some of my friends who really need this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for these - #1 is fascinating. I've never used a setting spray and look forward to trying it
ReplyDeleteHourglass blushes are life! I also (FINALLY) treated myself to the Ambient Lighting palette for Christmas and those powders feel amazing, too! I just wish Hourglass wasn't so damn pricey aha. Kitten Karma is so pretty on the eyes! I've got my eye on a few more shades, too. ;) x
ReplyDeleteGood quality liquid eyeshadow stays on much longer and is much more pigmented than powder eyeshadow, definitely worth a try. ;) The best part about Revlon's Lipcolour is that it's drugstore ; ka-ching! x
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you could learn something here, Ola - the more finely milled a powder is (not just plush, any powder), the better! :) x
ReplyDeleteYes, girl! I hadn't used liquid eyeshadows in a while before Christmas, but now I can't figure out why I stopped aha, they're amazing. Definitely give Revlon's Lipcolour a go! It's cheap (and gorgeous), you have nothing to lose. ;) x
ReplyDeleteEye make-up is a great place to start - there's so much you can do and experiment with. :) x
ReplyDeleteI hope your friends enjoy these as much as I do. :) x
ReplyDeleteToo Faced is amazing! As a setting spray, Hangover isn't my first pick (go for Urban Decay), but it's great as a base. :) x
ReplyDeleteI have so much fun with gold glitter eye shadow over the holidays. It can be a nice subtle step up from your regular makeup game. Thanks for sharing your recommendations.
ReplyDeleteThese all sound like wonderful products. I've never used any of them but I am on the hunt for a good moisturizer-would you say that the Hangover 3 in 1 is good for that?
ReplyDeleteYou have a great bunch of product there. I rarely use this kind of product - but it's worth me taking note to get educated about what is out there and what is good or great product.
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with all Stila products! I would love to try these eyeshadows. They look beautiful!!

OMG I keep hearing about these Stilla products but I haven't gotten my hands on them yet. I love my Hangover primer!
ReplyDeleteI wish to try that Revlon matte lipstick but always out of stock! I heard many good feedbacks about.
ReplyDeleteI love the Revlon ultra HD lip colors! I don't remember the name but they have a gorgeous wine color that is perfect for the cooler months!
ReplyDeleteI have an eye on Maybelline x Gigi Hadid Collection Liquid Eye Liner for so long and couldn't wait to buy it! Though I have never used liquid eye liner before!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, you gotta love Hourglass blushes, I have a different shade to you, but the formula is fantastic! I'm also a huge fan of the Revlon lipcolours, although I only like the lighter shades. I find the deep shades tend to bleed and I just can't stand it! Xx

I love those Stila shadows! They are the best for sure! Have you tried the new Colourpop Supernova shadows? They are similar but the Stila ones are still my fave!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome. I love the brand Hourglass - their primer is literally incredible!
ReplyDeleteI've tried that Revlon lipcolors. I love how they have such a variety. I didn't love the color I chose, but I may give it another go. The one I got was a matte metallic one!
ReplyDeleteGlitter eye shadow is just perfect for Christmas/New Year. :) I think it could be fun to incorporate in to a "daily" look every now and then too. ;) x
ReplyDeleteAs a moisturiser alone, I wouldn't recommend it, but used on top of moisturiser as more of a hydrating primer, it provides an amazing boost of hydration. :) x
ReplyDeleteGlad you have learnt something here, Deborah. :) x
ReplyDeleteStila produces so many banging products! It's quite a pricey brand here in Australia so I haven't tried a whole lot but the handful of things I've tried, I've loved (the Stay All Day Concealer is amazing too). x
ReplyDeleteWell, I think that it's about time you treated yourself to some Stila, girl. ;) xx
ReplyDeleteThat's such a shame, Blair! Keep trying, I'm sure you'll get it some day. :) x
ReplyDeleteOoooooh I love me a wine coloured lipstick for Autumn and Winter. Looks like I have to expand my collection a little. ;) x
ReplyDeleteIt's a dang good eyeliner, especially for liquid newbies. :) x
ReplyDeleteI think Dim Infusion is the third Hourglass shade that I've added to my collection (they're so expensive! Waaah!) - Diffused Heat is pretty, too.. Heck, THEY'RE ALL PRETTY aha. I completely agree with you about the darker Revlon Lipcolours, it's such a shame. At least the light ones are good aha. x
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to get my hands on Hourglass's primer for a while now - it's SUCH an expensive brand here in Australia (the blush singles are $55 each, not that that stops me haha) but I've heard it's well worth the money. One day *sigh* x
ReplyDeleteI've not tried anything Colourpop yet.. it's not an overly accessible brand here in Australia, which is a dang shame. I've been dying to try a couple of their products for so long now, I'll have to add a couple of Supernova shadows to the wishlist. :) x
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame you didn't like the colour - metallic is kinda hard to pull off sometimes. At least if you like the formula, you can pick up a different shade or two. It's a good thing they're cheap. :) x
ReplyDeleteoh man!! If you can get your hands on their products they are def worth a try!
