One: Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow in "The Glo Down"
This is an eyeshadow, but have you seen that metallic pigmentation of this particular shade?! I use it as a highlighter and I feel that it performs better than many actual highlighters. It gives off the most amazing, golden hued glow (perfect for Summer) which doesn't take very much at all to build up to the most blinding thing that I've ever seen. I do still use it on my lids on occasion (it's beautiful on the inner corners), and it's lovely, but I honestly cannot get past this glow on my cheekbones. The powder itself feels so silky and buttery and just glides on to the skin. Considering this can be bought at Target, it's definitely a winner for me.
Two: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in "Ecru"
I recently published a review of this foundation, so I won't go on for years repeating myself, but I'm sososo in love with it! Despite being matte, it doesn't look flaky or further dry out my dry skin and leaves me with a beautiful, flawless face. It has a light, silky texture which is rare of a medium-full coverage foundation and yet, it still manages to last all day without the need of any touch-ups. Definitely do read through my full review linked above for a more in-depth description if you're considering buying it. It's worth the spend in my opinion, for sure.
I've been trying out various drugstore eye creams but I've found nothing that matches this in terms of moisturizing my dry lids, which get flaky if they are not moisturised liberally enough (gross), which is my main concern at the ripe old age of 23. I have noticed that with daily use, the few small fine lines that I do have underneath my eyes are visibly reduced, which is not something that I've noticed with any other eye creams I've tried. It is quite a big spend for such a small pot, but as eyes are so delicate and show the first signs of ageing (get on the eye cream early - trust me), to me, it's worth the spend. Plus, as the name suggests, it's a damn strong formula, so a little goes a long way. Value for money, anyone?
Four: Benefit KA-BROW! in "Medium 3"
I've had this for a while now, but in between Rimmel's Brow This Way Kit - my drugstore brow product of choice for the work days, and Anastasia Beverly Hills's Dipbrow on weekends, I've only really just started using this. I can't believe it took me so long because I actually prefer it to Dipbrow these days. I found that KA-BROW has a more solid formula to Dipbrow which actually means that it lasts longer, does not smudge at all and gives a more defined line than a creamier formula does. It's waterproof, too, which makes it perfect for my after work gym sessions or if you have oilier skin. You honestly really only need a little bit of product to do the whole brow and I love the hidden brush, too.
Five: NARS Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer in "Laguna"
Whatever "sheer matte" is, I like it! This bronzer is purposely sheer (but definitely buildable if desired) which is why I've been using it quite often over the colder months for a more Winter appropriate glow. It also makes it perfect for those who, like me, prefer a more minimalistic approach to bronzer in general. The colour is almost identical to the original Laguna, minus the shimmer. It's completely matte but somehow still manages to reflect light for a beautifully diffused, soft-focus effect, eliminating the possibility of looking flat, which is often a concern with matte products. The powder itself feels firmer in the pan than I'm used to, but still has a smooth and creamy texture. It's basically foolproof - blending is a breeze, it's impossible to over-do and the colour is gorgeously non-muddy. It honestly is the most natural-looking bronzer that I’ve seen.

Thanks, pretty! <3
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely give Maybelline's eyeshadow (COUGH highlighter COUGH) a try! It's amazing. :) x
WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! Get on them. Now! :P xx
ReplyDeleteA matte Laguna?! That sounds amazing, Laguna is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteBeauty From Katie
When I had my eyebrows waxed at Benefit last they tried the eye cream as I wasn't wearing any makeup that day and I was really impressed! I've just finished off the last of my current eye cream and conveniently have got my tax return back so looks like I'm off to buy this on the weekend at my next brow wax appointment!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a Laguna lover myself. The matte offering is definitely something worth looking in to, girl. :) x
ReplyDeleteWell isn't that convenient hehe. :P It's such a great eye cream - I haven't found one better! :) x
ReplyDeleteI really want to try out that brow product now! I've been using the Anastasia Powder Duo and while I like it, it would be nice to find something that's creamy!
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about that foundation and NARS in general. I love seeing what other people enjoyed so I can find new products to try!
ReplyDeleteI need to try that eye cream! These products all sound SO amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI use MAC products but I think they're heavy. I might try the Estes Lauder range.
ReplyDeleteNARS is one of my fave go-to brands for blush! I love anything in a peachy tone!

I really like Estee Lauder's products. I think I will try to get that one. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteLaguna for the win! This has been a NARS classic and I love that it's one they haven't changed too much or gotten rid over the years! I've heard a lot of good thinks about the Estee Lauder foundation, but I have never made the switch. I'm just in love with NARS right now.

I am trying out that eye cream, it looks amazing! I have been on the hunt for a good one for awhile now!
ReplyDeleteI need that eye cream. I have terrible dark circles under my eyes that I hate. I might have to get this.
ReplyDeleteI'm always amazing by the wide variety of makeup sold. Number 4, Ka Brow really peaked my interest here. I'd like to get a closer look at that one.
ReplyDeleteLovely.. Personally loved the sheer matte which I would love to apply due to its non glitter base.
ReplyDeleteThis is not really my thing, although it is interesting to know about for the sake of my daughter. I know she will be looking into this soon. I think if I were to try something out it would be the eye cream. I could really use something to reduce the circles under the eyes. Good to know it's a good product.
ReplyDeleteLovely selection! I would love to try that NARS blush and also the Estee Lauder.
ReplyDeleteI was always wondring if the benefit eye cream is worth a try. Im so sleep deprived a good eye cream is a must for me! I'm definitely going to try it now that I know that you liked it so much! Yes please, value for money! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are some great suggestion for summer, when you don't want to put a lot of make-up because of the heat. The eye cream sounds really interesting!
ReplyDeleteThey all sound like great products! I love wearing these colors during the summer - anything for that healthy, natural glow.

This is good stuff. Your take on beauty is excellent.
ReplyDeleteNars is for sure one of my go to brands!
ReplyDeleteI love Anastasia's brow pomade too, but I usually go over it with a powder. Definitely give KA-BROW a try if you're after a creamier product - pomades are easier to draw with and blend out in my opinion. :) x
ReplyDeleteMe too, Marette! I love nosey-ing in to others' favourites and trying their recommendations. :P x
ReplyDeleteYES, ADRIANA! If there's one thing here to try, it's the eye cream. I can't use anything else! x
ReplyDeleteAhh yes. I used to use M.A.C. but I eventually found it to be too heavy for me too. I still love M.A.C.'s lip products, but I go elsewhere for my make-up. Let me know what you think on the Estee Lauder Double Wear if you do give it a try. :) x
ReplyDeleteNARS blushes are bomb! xx
ReplyDeleteYesssss, girlll! You seriously cannot go past Laguna when you're talking bronzers. Definitely do give Estee Lauder Double Wear a try some time (if you can bear to betray NARS hehe). x
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth it, Steph! I promise. :P x
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the dark circles, girl. Lack of sleep mixed in with Italian genes is not a good combination, but this eye cream definitely helps. :) x
ReplyDeleteKA-BROW is definitely my favourite brow product right now. :) x
ReplyDeleteYou're like me, Jhilmil. :P It's such a great product for the non-glitter lovers like us out there. :) x
ReplyDeleteAha aww. I do appreciate you making the effort, David. I know it's hard to relate aha. :) The eye cream is definitely a good'un, though (albeit an expensive good'un) - whether you're male or female. :)
ReplyDeleteThey're both awesome products, Blair. :) I recommend for sure. x
ReplyDeleteYesssss, girl! It's such a good little investment!
ReplyDeleteP.S. If you're still on the fence, you can usually find free samples if you hunt around. :) x
I didn't even realise, but I definitely agree that this is a more Summer inclined list - even though I'm currently in the middle of Winter here haha. x
ReplyDeleteIt's alllll about the glow hehe. :P x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vishal. :)
ReplyDeleteYou can't really go wrong with NARS. :) x
