A look back at June's goals:
Get to the gym four times per week, every week
"I've caught myself slacking when it comes to getting myself to the gym on my scheduled days lately. The colder weather has not been very motivational and I've found myself skipping so many gym days in favour of getting cozy in bed and eating all the food. Reluctantly trudging to the gym 2-3 times at the most each week has really thrown my routine (and eating habits) out of whack. Womp."
Tick: I got to the gym every day I was supposed to last month and you know what? I lost 1kg. My first loss in about 5 months, the one month I don't make weight loss a goal. Story of my life.
Clean out my wardrobe and bedroom storage
"By "bedroom storage", I mean whatever bits and bobs I've shoved under my bed over my 23 years of life. I'd definitely like to clean out my wardrobe, too. I know there's so much in there that I've grown out of or no longer wear (or have never worn before, let's be real) which I can sell/donate. I know that this was a (failed) goal in both February and April (oops), but now that our house will be ready in about a month (!!!), it's basically do-or-die time."
Tick: Finally! It sort of had to be done at this point, but I'm proud that I did it well before move-in time. I couldn't be bothered try to sell anything in the end, but I did donate and give away a lot of make-up and clothes, and most importantly, I threw away a lot of junk.
Draft most of June and July's blog content in advance
"I feel sososo much more organised and sososo much less stressed when I've got a few blog posts sitting in my drafts ready to go. I've got a few ideas about posts that I'd like to publish in the next coming months, but with my bust June schedule, I know how busy this month is going to be. Taking photos is always the thing that I drag my feet on, but if I can at least have all actual content written out, I'd feel much better."
Tick: Life was good, guys. Spending a lot of time writing out and scheduling my content during quiet periods at the start of June was sososo worth it. It felt amazing to be on top of my posts and not have to worry about my blog during the stressful handover and moving-in periods. I should do this more often.
Goals for July:

Goals for July:
It's official, y'all, we've got the keys to our freshly built home (!!!) and I've taken two weeks off of work to paint, build furniture, move in, die. I always find that I slack when it comes to going to the gym when I'm out of routine, and if I'm not going to work? Forget about it! Although it may be difficult to get to the gym with all that's going on, I'd still like to make time to exercise in different ways as much as I can.
Spend $0 on food
I'd say that 90% of my paycheck goes to food. Jesse and I are always (I'm talking always) buying snacks and meals and it's not doing good things to my wallet or to my waistline. Obviously, I'm going to buy groceries, but aside from that, I don't want to spend a single cent on snack-runs or takeaway meals. Home cooking all the way. Pls send halp.

Try 1x New Recipe per week
I hate spending a lot of time cooking, but I really love the satisfaction I get when I prepare a damn good meal, so I thought that this month would be perfect to try a few recipes that I've found on Pinterest, with all that non-takeout that I plan on buying and all.
Find a damn coffee table
One would think that a freakin' coffee table would be the easiest of things to buy. At least, I did. I have been searching for a coffee table that a) isn't ugly b) isn't expensive AF c) Jesse also likes for months on end and do you think I've been able to find one? Nooooo and the fact that we don't have one annoys me to no end. If there's one piece of furniture I'm determined to buy this month, it's a coffee table.
What do you want to accomplish this month?

I'm with you on trying to get blog posts organised in advance. I've had little free time for blogging lately and I'd like to use it for reading and commenting, not stressing about what to write!
ReplyDeleteI keep saying I'll go to the gym and then something always comes up. I like that you stay organized, I need to do the same. Two kids, a man that's basically a child, a mechanic room mate, and three dogs. My house is a nightmare, maybe I need a goals list as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your June goals! I need to start working out! Lol

ReplyDeleteDefinitely, Jade! I've only organised a little under a month in advance and it has already saved me so much stress. It's worth the time in my opinion for sure. x
ReplyDeleteStory of my life, girl haha. I can imagine how busy you must be! Getting as organised in advance as you can (without going overboard and stressing yourself out further) definitely helps! I find that writing out my goals and publishing them really helps motivate me to get things accomplished. I recommend writing out a small list of monthly goals for sure. :) x
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to lie, I'm a little proud of myself for accomplishing all of my goals in June hehe. Both of those things are worth the "hassle" if you ask me - good luck! :) x

ReplyDeleteThanks, Amber. Mapping out my posts in advance was one of the best things that I'd done for my blog. So much pressure was elevated and hey! I hear you about loving to eat haha. A woman after my own heart. :P x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Courtney! It definitely can be, especially when me and my partner have such different tastes in food. x
