April Beauty Favourites

My fave makeup, skincare and beauty products in April

One: The Body Shop British Rose Petal-Soft Gel Toner*
At first I was a little apprehensive about a gel toner as I'm so used to intense, alcohol-based formulas but I'm absolutely loving this! It is quite thick and feels very luxurious. My skin is left feeling super soft, hydrated and refreshed which was an amazing sensation over the warmer months. The formula is also 100% vegan, which I always appreciate. It doesn't feel at all sticky, but make-up still manages to sit wonderfully on top of it. For this reason, I tend to reach for this moreso in the mornings for a smooth, plump complexion.

Two: Ligurian Honey Hand & Nail Creme
Doesn't this packaging look luxurious?! I love a good, rich hand cream on my perpetually dry hands and this cream is just that. Made from organic ingredients, it is super thick and nourishing, leaving my hands feeling soft and hydrated and my nail beds looking moisturised and healthy without the sticky, greasy feeling that some creams tend to leave behind. The scent is also amazing! It's sweet and fruity and lingers with you throughout the day. This would honestly make such a good gift (I was given the Ligurian Honey pack by Jesse's mum, so I can confirm).

I love with Smashbox's Photo Finish Primer line, so I pretty much died when I saw the rose gold goodness that is the Vlada collaboration (I'm dying to try more of the limited edition line). True to the original, this primer is wonderfully hydrating and leaves the skin feeling smooth and ready for make-up, but this rose gold revamp also illuminates the skin, giving off a beautifully radiant finish. I was worried that the rose gold hue would be too  deep for my complexion, and I probably couldn't wear this in Winter, but right now, it actually looks amazing on me! I especially love wearing it under a more sheer foundation for that  warm, lit-from-within glow. I've also used it alone as a highlighter on my cheekbones and it looks lovely used as such, too. The only downside is that it's limited edition.

I can't believe how hard this was to get in Perth! I've been lusting over Tarte blushes for the longest time but it's always sold out online and without a Sephora to physically visit... life was tough. I finally got a compact thanks to my beautiful best friend and I've been using it non-stop since. The colour is gorgeous (I'm eyeing off a few more shades as we speak). A lovely warm, completely matte peach that sets off my blue-green eyes beautifully. The formula is fantastic, too - pigmented, buildable if desired, blends beautifully and lasts all throughout a busy work day.

I love cleansing balms! They're so hydrating on my dry skin and an amazing way to melt away and gently remove makeup. Balms are actually my favourite way to remove stubborn waterproof mascara. Clinique's offering melts like butter when warmed up on the skin and glides across the face like a dream, easily removing all traces of make-up. It's gentle, non irritating and can be used around the eyes without stinging or burning. I use it before my evening shower and it is easily washed away with warm water, no scrubbing required, and does not leave any greasy residue behind.

  7. I definitely need to try the Clinique cleansing balm. This product would be great on my skin. I wear waterproof mascara too and know how tricky it can be to remove it.

  13. If that's the case, Julie, DEFINITELY do give Clinique's cleansing balm a go (you can probably get a sample at Sephora) - it works wonders! x
