An Instagram Round-up: June 2018

If you've been following Christie's Take on Life for any amount of time, chances are you've been made aware of how much of a fan of Instagram I am. Even with all of the algorithm changes and the messing around, I still think that it's the perfect outlet for posting inspiration and little snippets of life, and seeing what my friends and favourite bloggers are up to. Nine times out of ten, my photos don't make it to my blog and that's a damn shame because I do love to see pretty pictures and share what's been inspiring me in turn.

Here's a recap of what the past month has looked like on my Instagram feed:

I was excited about our upcoming Whitsundays holiday before, but since the weather has been pretty average here in Australia, I've been getting even more pumped for it. This picture was taken during my last holiday in Busselton, but it's of a beach so samesame.

I'm actually quite proud of this moody shot - insert all of the smirk emojis here. it basically sums up what my days have looked like of late.

This was such an uplifting haul - I'm devastated for those who didn't get their hands on the limited edition palette. You can read my full haul post here.

I wish that every single night looked like this, especially on weeknights. You can see my full post on relaxing after a long day here.

An Instagram Round-up: April-May

If you've been following Christie's Take on Life for any amount of time, chances are that you'd have been made aware of how much of a fan of Instagram I am. I think that it's the perfect outlet for posting inspiration and little snippets of life, and seeing what my friends and favourite bloggers are up to. Nine times out of ten, my photos don't make it to my blog and that's a damn shame because I do love to see pretty pictures and share what's been inspiring me in turn.

Here's a recap of what the past couple of months have looked like on my Instagram feed:

We don't really get to experience much of the typical Autumnal magic here in Perth, so I absolutely love the rare occasion that I do get to see fallen orange leaves.

I honestly crave this pizza on a weekly basis. Dome delivers the goods when it comes to their margherita pizzas. Trust.

This is one of maybe three photos that I am actually in throughout my whole Instagram feed.

My Face Shit bag kills me every time. My full What's in my Bag post can be found here.

Jesse and I used to go out for breakfast almost once a week, but this was the first time that since we built our house that we've been able. To say I missed breakfast dates would be an understatement.

Oops. ;) You can see a full breakdown of what I hauled here if you're curious.

There is nothing better than a pot of warm tea on a cold day if you ask me.

An Instagram Recap

There was a time when I did these Instagram (shameless plug) round-up's monthly. I used to adore taking pictures and sharing them with whoever cared, but I've since lost my drive. I think that the negatives that have been surrounding Instagram for some time now have contributed to the fact that I've been finding it hard to upload consistently. I can't blame it all (or even most of it) on Instagram, though.. I just haven't had the motivation to take photos in general for a while now, let alone publish anything to Instagram. Don't get me wrong, I still use the app every single day. I scroll through my feed religiously. I like photos, I watch stories, I comment but I just don't have any content to publish these days which makes a monthly Instagram round-up pretty redundant.

I've actually made it a goal to post to Instagram at least once a week, every week this month (so far, so good!) so, I thought that I would post the pitiful amount of photos that I did publish between December and March in the hopes that it will motivate me to get back in to the swing of posting, or even just taking photos to begin with:

This is exactly what I was talking about! Christmas Eve! I haven't posted enough to recap since Christmas friggin' Eve!
Here is the full post about how I relax on Christmas Eve. Relevant.

I love desk tours! I've been working of getting my own desk area to be a more inspiring place lately.

I'm a massive bookworm! Here is the full post about what I had been reading here and if you have any book suggestions for me, I'm always open to hearing them!

There's nothing better to me than a good, authentic wood fired Margherita pizza.

GUYS! EGGS BENEDICT FRIES EXIST AND I STILL CAN'T GET OVER THEM!

My little Milla girl. <3

The $6 I spent on this doormat was the best $6 I've ever spent.

I've always thought cotton candy skies were so magical.

An Instagram Round-up

In case you hadn't noticed, it's been a hot minute (read: 6 months!) since I've published a "My Month on Instagram" post and the reason for that would be because I HAVEN'T TAKEN ANY PHOTOS IN ABOUT THAT LONG, which is absolutely shameful. I even ended up setting myself a "post to Instagram" goal last month. Hint: I failed.

Don't get me wrong, I use Instagram every single day. I scroll through my feed religiously. I like photos, I watch stories and I stalk comment but I just don't have any content to publish anymore.

So, I thought I would post the pitiful amount of photos that I did publish over the past 6 months as a last ditch effort to motivate me to get back in to the swing of posting, or even just taking photos to begin with, at least semi-regularly:

My daily, "work face" products. You can read the full post, tallying up the cost of said face here.

I also did the same with my "night out" (higher end) make-up and skincare too. Full post here for you to judge read.

I was so excited to get this kitchen décor up on the wall when we first moved in to our new house. It added a much needed hit of "life" to our then impersonal house. To this day, I still get a whiff of the coffee beans as I was past.

Perth has an annual event called Kaleidoscope, in which a bunch of light installations and features are set up and free for the public to peruse. This is my favourite shot from the event and it wasn't even a display piece, just an arty lantern, lighting the path.

If you didn't know that I think turmeric lattes are the bees knees, did you even know me at all?

I do enjoy me a good flatlay or two. This particular one showcases all I got in my collective birthday beauty haul.

I'm not one for New Year resolutions, but I'd definitely like to make the effort to be more active on Instagram in 2018.

My Month on Instagram - June 2017

If you've been following Christie's Take on Life for any amount of time, you'd surely know by now that I'm a major lover of Instagram! It's the perfect outlet for posting inspiration and little snippets of life, and seeing what my favourite bloggers and friends are up to.

There are so many times that my Instagram posts never make it to my blog, and that's a damn shame because I consider myself to be quite the photographer..

..Not really, but it's a shame nonetheless!

Instalife over the past month looked something like this:

We ticked another "café to try" off of my list over the long weekend and I got to try my very first turmeric latte. I'm a fan, I must say.

I'm usually a square nail kinda gal, but I stepped out a little with this rounded stiletto style for a fun change. Typing with these things was no joke, though. No. Joke.

If you know anything about me, you'd know that I'm a huge believer in a good (affordable) skincare routine. These are the daily-use products that I swear by. Full post here.

I'm such a fan of Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and this is probably my most favourite photo that I've taken to date if I'm honest. You can read my full product review here.

As I work at an accounting firm, we get treated to lunch at the end of each financial year. It's safe to say that I got my moneys worth.

There's nothing that I enjoy more than snuggling up with a good book in Autumn and Winter. Here is my full post on all that I've read recently.

This recipe, you guys. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I die every time.

Do I need say more? The shade Unicorn Blood is perfect for the colder months. Ooof.

Enter LUSH bath bomb photo #52760593. *long suffering sigh*
