Beauty Products That I Want to Try in 2018

Does new make-up make anyone else insanely happy, or is it just me?Honestly, there is no better way to perk me up, or pull me out of a funk than treating myself to some new beauty bits. My bank account (and boyfriend) don't usually approve, but I'm all about that #treatyoself life.

Make-up and beauty are getting to be expensive passions of mine, what with all of these banging product launches that brands are coming out with these days and all; I feel as though my make-up wish list is never ending. I guess it comes with the territory of being a beauty junkie.

I'm narrowing the plethora of products out there that I want to try down to a handful of the main items that I've been dying to get my hands on for a while now.
So, here are a few of the items that I'm lusting over in 2018:

Makeup and beauty products that I want to get my hands on in 2018

I can already foresee how this post is going to go, so let's make it a little more interesting. Every time I say something about a products' availability in Australia, do a shot of Vodka.

P.S. I've linked stores that offer the best shipping to Australia. These links are not likely to be ideal for 98% of my readership - sorry.

Keihl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate
I feel that every beauty blogger and their dog has tried the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Every beauty blogger except me, that is. I love me a good overnight treatment and I have loved everything that I've heard about this one - It especially appeals to me as a dry skinned gal.

Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder
Powders don't often work well for me due to my dry skin but I've heard that this offering is great for drier skin types as it contains rose wax and almond oil (!!!) for a more hydrating, creamier texture. A powder that doesn't dry you out and leaves you with an almost dewy looking finish is VERY appealing to me. I've always wanted to try some of Charlotte Tilbury's stuff (ohai, no Australian stockists) and I think that this is the perfect place to start.

This is something that you actually can purchase at Sephora Australia, or at least, you could. It always seems to be sold out.. or they just plain don't stock it anymore as I've never seen it restocked. I've wanted to be the owner of a Marc Jacobs something for so long now, and this bronzer really calls my name! The colour is lovely and the undertone looks amazing. The huge pan just sells it to me even more.

This was first brought to my attention by Nikkie. It's so unnecessary and extra, but that's what I love about it (and her, let's be real). I'm not a huge gloss girl, but this golden metallic shimmer would look amazing over a nude lip!

SO many people have been raving about this stuff! AND I can get it from the UK, too (much better shipping rates)! It's is a bit extra for a face mask, but I really like the idea of a "treat yourself" mask that'll hydrate the skin and leave it looking glowy and soft and from what I've heard, that this is just that. I love me a good watermelon scent, too.

Jackie Aina was the person who first brought this powder to my attention - she raves about it in almost every video but I never bothered to have a look for myself. Turns out I can get it in Australia! I'll have to put it in my next order. Hopefully it works well on drier skin types!

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream
At this point in time, it's impossible to get Fresh in Australia without going through a parallel import site, which I plain don't trust. I've heard rumours that Fresh is coming to Sephora Australia, though, so that's a plus. A good skincare product is always going to be high on my "to buy" list and I absolutely love rose on my skin. Everything that I've heard about this moisturiser, I've liked.

Are there any beauty products or new releases that you'd like to try this year?
Let me know if you've tried anything on my wish list! How did it work for you?

What's that? "Your birthday isn't for months, Christie"?
Well, yes, it's true. My birthday is in October. On the eighteenth, to be specific, but you know what, guys? I think I did pretty well to wait until now to post this, rather than when it was actually drafted. We can all still be friends and you will never know that I'm actually a self-absorbed ass-hat who posts her birthday wishlist 6 months before her birthday month.

My Bucket List.

Before I began working towards my Diploma of Events, I didn't necessarily live my days by goals and plans. Instead, I ended up spending most of your time caught up the same old mundane day-to-day activities feeling as though time was passing me by without any progress, no yield, no product. Beginning my studies gave me something to work towards, something to strive for, something to achieve. My days now feel as though they have purpose, as though they're going somewhere, and I love that feeling. I love that drive.

Reading Leslie from Peachy Keen's bucket list post a few weeks back caused me to think to myself: "self, you need to create a dang bucket list, because I'll be damned if you die before experiencing all you want out of life". So, with my new-found motivation, that's just what I did:

Visit Paris
Own a vineyard
See The Northern Lights
Visit Italy
Ride in a gondola
Obtain my Diploma and have a career in event planning
Drink Vodka in an ice bar

Explore a rainforest
See snow
Visit Fiji

Own a beach/holiday house
Ride in a hot air balloon
Visit Tokyo
Explore a Japanese shrine/temples
See The Great Barrier Reef before it's depleted
Visit The Maldives
Own a Louis Vuitton bag
Visit New York and Los Angeles

Spend a day at Six Flags
Go on a cruise
Attend Summernats
Get married outdoors
Have a beautiful family
Visit Greece
Explore a glow worm cave
Spend a day at a spa
Have an evening bonfire on the beach
Watch a sunrise and sunset in the same day
Order room service
Have sex in a limo
Spend a night in the presidential suite of a luxury hotel
Visit the Whitsunday Islands
Get a tattoo in a different country

Have a professional boudoir photo shoot
Spend the day as a tourist in my own home town

What's on your bucket list?

Current Wishlist. Because I Always Want Things. Always.

My anniversary is in January, Valentines Day has been and gone, my birthday is in October, and Christmas is 9 months away. What's a girl to do during those 7 painful months of nothingness between February 15 and October 17?

Lust. Lust and cry. That's what.

But if anyone wants to buy me a present just because, refer to below for inspiration.
I wouldn't object.

I am in dire need of a (one)palette organiser.

Since I have more than enough charms on my bracelet, I guess I'll just have to settle for (two)this ring. And (three)this oneAnd while we're at it, (four)this one, too

These (Five)boots have been on every single wishlist I've ever created. I wish I was joking.

I'm STILL to get my hands on anything Benefit. I've been lusting after their (Six)Hoola bronzer for as long as I can remember.

Too Faced's (Seven)Cocoa Contour Kit is always sold out whenever I brave my local Mecca. Why, Lord, why?! I've also got my eye on their (Eight)Chocolate Bar Palette.

This (Nine)"Booze" decanter is life.

One day I shall get my hands on this (Ten)Louis Vuitton bag. One day.

I need a light pink shade such as (Eleven)MAC's Crème Cup in my lipstick collection.

My Christmas Wishlist.

I don't mean to alarm you.. but there's exactly one month until Christmas.
One. Freakin'. Month.
Four freakin' weeks. 30 freakin' days.
Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas. The food, the fun, the family.. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that 2015 is already drawing to a close. WHERE DID YOU GO, 2015? WHERE?!

As usual, I've gone off topic. CHRISTMAS DOES THAT TO ME, OKAY?!
aaand just like that, were back on topic, so before I ramble off on a completely different direction, raise your hand if you're still to finish your Christmas shopping? Now, raise your hand if you're still to start your Christmas shopping? Because that's where I'm at right now and don't you even pretend like you're not right here with me either.

Anyways, because I'm apparently a selfish Grinch, I've complied myself a little wishlist for the holiday season before I've even thought about what to get anybody else. So before we ponder what kind of terrible person I must be, let's take a look at what I wish I'll see under my Christmas Tree this year:

One: How to be Parisian Wherever You Are  ||  Two: MAC's 'Tropic Tonic' Lipstick
Three: MIMCO's envelope clutch  ||  Four: Benefit Hoola Powder
Five: The Body Shop's honey bronze shimmering dry oil
Six: The Body Shop's honey bronze bronzing powder
Seven: VS Sassoon's curl secret  ||  Eight: Anastasia Beverly Hills' Dipbrow Pomade

1. Spring is here.
2: Festivals and events start gearing up for the warmer months.
3: It marks one month until my birthday. *throws confetti*
Yup I'm one of those narcissistic ass hats who would rather celebrate my birthday over Christmas.

It's about this time that I compile a little birthday wish list.
Okay, I lied, this shit's been sitting in my drafts since January. Don't judge me.

One: Free People Boots  ||  Two: Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder
Three: Tiffany & Co Necklace  ||  Four: Louis Vuitton Neverfull

Spring Lust List.

Spring is almost here! I'm not going to lie, I've been counting down the days.
It's usually about this time that I start window shopping online for a few cute, yet well thought out and quality pieces that will liven up my wardrobe for the coming months. I've found some real lovelies for Spring, and I thought I'd share them with you all today:

Six Places I Need to See Before I Die.

Ever since reading Kathie's 5 places on my travel list post, I've been hit by that Wonderlust thing people are talking about. Truth be told: I don't travel well. A car trip makes me all kinds of sick, being on a train scares me, getting on a plane? Forget about it. I'm terrified of planes but that doesn't mean I don't dream of exploring a place I've never been before, experiencing a whole new way of living. I think we all have those places in mind; dream destinations that may or may not ever become a reality. So, for the sake of daydreaming:

(in no particular order)

Italy
image
I remember Italian was my favourite subject throughout my junior primary school years. The teachers were horrible, my belly would always rumble because it was right before lunch, but for as long as I can remember, learning about the Italian culture was my favourite and Italy has always been somewhere I want to visit. Rome, Venice, Tuscany, Capri - you name it - I've lusted over it. The food, the romance, the history, the architecture. Say no more.

Paris
image
I'm embarrassed to admit: It wasn't An Affair to Remember that first got me interested in Paris rather, an episode of The Hills. I watched as Lauren and Whitney introduced me to the high-end fashion and the romance the city has to offer. Fast forward a few years, I enviously watch all the glamorous going's on as Gossip Girl sees Blair and Serena prancing all around Paris to forget their boy troubles (as you do). I don't speak a drop of French, but since that faithful day my 14 year-old self watched on as Lauren popped a bottle of champagne under the Eiffel Tower with a scruffy Frenchman, I've been in love with, inspired by, obsessed over Paris.

The Maldives
image
I'm a beach bum at heart - The Maldives' crystalline blue waters contrasted against pure white sand makes this destination more than okay by me. It's a damn shame these islands are often overlooked - Although it has quickly become one of my most lusted over destinations, if it had not been for the beautiful images on Pinterest, a Maldivian holiday wouldn't have even crossed my mind a year ago. It's beautiful, it's tropical, it's tranquil and there's a freaking glowing ocean.
This is the meaning of life.

Los Angeles / New York
image
This really is two places, but.. 'MERICA. Case and point.
I've always thought of America as a place of wonder and opportunity - a supersized version of the world I've been living in. There’s something new around every corner, the food is bigger, the shopping is better, the cities are larger. When I think of America, I think of fast-paced city living. That's why I've always been excited by the prospect of Visiting New York. Sex in the City was what first got me hooked on the glamour of the Big Apple. That iconic skyline, the clubs and the bars, the galleries, Times Square. New York can change in a minute, and that excites me.
Then there's Los Angeles because, famous people. That's why. I'm a walking cliché: I want to stroll the walk of fame, I want to shop Rodeo Drive, I want to go crazy in Disneyland, I want to take a ride along Sunset Boulevard. I want to L.A.

Greece
image
Anywhere. I don't care. Just get me to Greece. Ever since The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, the beautiful villages of Santorini have been a must-see. In my opinion, it is one of the most diverse places - a combination of landscapes that can rarely be found together anywhere else. You can be in the midst of Santorini's structured hills one moment, and inside one of the many picturesque nooks, caves crannies scattered over the Greek Islands the next; It's remarkable.

Tokyo
image
If for nothing else, I want to visit Tokyo for the gadgets. The Japanese are of the forefront of technology, and I could spend hours shopping completely unnecessary, but totally awesome knick-knacks along the neon-lit streets. Can we talk about those neon-lit streets for a sec? What I wouldn't give to see Tokyo at night. It's so bright, so vibrant, so alive! Upscale bars, packed dance clubs, karaoke lounges - the nightlife seems irresistible. Yet, for such a highly urbanized city, I've heard Tokyo has many beautiful, tranquil gardens, shrines and temples (seriously, Google The Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden). Escaping the bright, busy city for an hour and two and taking a stroll through a serene park would be pure bliss.

Just looking at these pictures all morning has given the an incurable case of the travel bug. What is your number one must-go destination?

Sharing is Caring!
